*BMI is just a rough guide about your weight. It's not perfect but gives a good idea. More about BMI.
What's this BMI thing?
BMI is just a number that tells if your weight is okay for your height. Doctors use it to check if you're underweight, normal, overweight or obese. It's not perfect but gives a quick idea about your weight health.
What do the numbers mean?
Here's how to read your BMI:
• Under 18.5: Too thin (underweight)
• 18.5-24.9: Good weight (normal)
• 25-29.9: A bit heavy (overweight)
• 30+: Too heavy (obese)
These numbers might change a bit if you're Asian or very muscular.
How does it work?
The math is simple:
BMI = your weight (kg) ÷ (your height (m) × height (m))
Like if you're 70kg and 1.75m tall:
70 ÷ (1.75 × 1.75) = 22.86
Our tool does this math for you - just type your numbers!
Things to know
BMI isn't perfect because:
• Doesn't show if weight is muscle or fat
• Athletes might show as overweight
• Doesn't work well for kids or pregnant women
• Doesn't care where your fat is (belly fat is worse)
Use it as a starting point, not the final answer.
